Mison Kim was born in Seoul, Korea. She emigrated to the United States when she was 19 years old. Her talents were quickly realized and she won a National Talent Scholarship and other scholarships which enabled her to attend Pratt Institute where she received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Fine Arts.

Mison has remained in New York where she has run her own company, Jadu7, inc., working as a fashion designer, illustrator and consultant for companies such as Tory Burch, Talbot's, Gap, and Federated Merchandising group among others. She has also continued to pursue fine arts having shown her work in galleries and museums in New York and North Carolina.

Mison is now located outside of New York City, in Greenville, New York, where she continues to live and work on her art.
